About: I quite literally – and audibly – gasped when I unwrapped this package from the day’s mail delivery.

A Winnie-the-Pooh board book! With vintage-look illustrations! And little bee buttons!

A reverse counting book, this is the story of Pooh following a swarm of bees to discover where they’re heading to. Ten bees become nine, nine become eight, and so on, until a single bee leads Pooh to his favourite thing in the world… a hive full of sweet honey.

Along the way we meet all the characters many of us have fallen in love with over the generations of Pooh’s existence. Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore, Roo, Kanga, Rabbit, Christopher Robin – they’re all here in their charming best.

This story is fun in lots of ways: the rhyming text is lovely to read aloud, the beautiful bee buttons disappearing one by one, the adventure of Pooh, and the gorgeous ending: “As Pooh and his friends eat honey for tea, Pooh feels rather glad he followed that bee.”

I’m thrilled to be able to share Winnie-the-Pooh with my toddler. And, judging by the smile on her face, so is she.
