Review: You Are A Star

You are made from the stars in the sky, right to your very fingertips. This story takes us on a tour from a little girl’s bedroom right up into the sky, far up to the stars.

We see the earth turn, we are taken way back in time to watch the dinosaurs walking below, and back home again.

All of this shows us that the dark, night sky is not a scary, cold, lonely thing, but the place we all came from.

This is a beautiful, reassuring story with calming words and comforting illustrations – perfect for a child’s bedtime.

Michael Parker decided to write You Are a Star in order to share a warm story about the stars and planets with his daughters. Having always felt a wondrous fixation with the sky, he says “there was awe and wonder up there aplenty – and I needed it to be energising and affirming instead of cold or alienating.”

He has certainly succeeded with this lovely children’s story.
